Phillips Home Theater System
Jul 8th, 2009 | By Chuck | Category: Best Home Theater SystemsWhether you’re looking for a Phillips Home Theater System or any other best home theater systems, there are a few things you need to consider first. For example;
- How much are you willing to spend on this new endevour?
- Have you thought about where you’re going to place it?
- How big is your ‘Theater Room’?
- How’s the lighting there? Are there too many large windows? Too much light can interfere with picture quality
As you can see, the questions are endless. If you have already thought about these and have answers, congratulations! You’re one step ahead of many others that blindly try to get a home theater system for their house without ever considering the above mentioned points. If you have not yet thought about it, don’t you worry, the whole purpose of our website is to make sure you understand these concepts properly before you go for the purchase.
Are you thinking of getting a television set as well? Or are you going to use the same TV set that you currently have. One of the best and most expensive TVs on the market today is the Philips 42 inch LCD HDTV, 42PF9831D with Ambilight. It costs about US$2500. But you can get larger, yet cheaper TVs such as the Philips 52PFL5603D/27 for less than half that price. It’s a 52-Inch 1080p LCD HDTV. Bigger doesn’t always mean more expensive.
If you want to shoot for even bigger, yet less expensive, then you should check out a projector and a giant screen. Obviously the picture quality is not going to be as good as a HDTV, but if the purpose is for your kids to watch movies during this summer vacation, I’m sure they won’t complain too much. You’re happy because you save big bucks and their happy because they got a giant screen.
Since you’re considering a Phillips home theater system, you can go for a built in system instead of buying individual components and building it from scratch. If you must build it from scratch according to your specific requirements, please stick to one brand whether it’s Philips or otherwise. Mixing and matching brands is the last thing you should do.
Following is a list of the most popular Phillips Home Theater Systems available on the market today.
- Philips HDD/DVD/CD Player and 80GB Recorder – this is one of the more expensive systems. This is also because of the 80GB recorder system
-
Philips HTS5800H DVD Recorder Home Theater – another great system especially given it’s superior features like the i.LINK digital input for perfect digital camcorder copies and VCR plus+ for quick and easy programming
-
Here’s one of my favorites – Philips 2.1 DVD System HTS6600/37. It’s really neat, looks extremely fashionable
-
Another system that has an out of this world appearance is the AmbiSound Home Theater Sound Bar with Integrated 1080p-Upscaling DVD/MP3 Player, HTS8100/37. One of my favorite features of this is its iPod / Philips GoGear docking capability
-
A low end system is Philips HTS3544, yet it will do everything that you expect from home theaters.
-
Last but not least, my #1 favorite, yet also the most expensive – Philips DivX DVD Micro Theater System, MCD709/37. It’s priced at around $600 on Amazon, but it’s simply out of this world. Yes, it’s ‘Micro’, so it’s not bulky and not going to take tons of space yet the most elegant Phillips Home Theater System available today.
